Intuit's Commitments to Environmental Stewardship

Intuit is a global financial technology platform with a mission to power prosperity around the world. Our values define how we innovate, serve our customers, and operate responsibly. Respect for environmental stewardship is fundamental to delivering on our mission, and living our values-not only within our business, but for people, communities, and the planet. For decades, Intuit has taken bold steps to protect the environment. This statement guides our decision-making and outlines our commitment to minimize our environmental impacts, which includes reducing our carbon footprint, responsibly managing resources such as energy and water, limiting waste generation, and leveraging our scale to drive climate resilience for our employees, customers, suppliers, and communities.

Core Commitments
  • Net-zero ambition: We are committed to executing our decarbonization strategies toward the achievement of our net-zero goals, in alignment with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), to fortify our operational resilience and reduce our impact.
  • Energy management: We strive to maintain 100% renewable electricity for our global operations, improve energy efficiency across our real estate portfolio, and seek opportunities to incorporate LEED-certification or comparable green building standards where feasible and commercially practical.
  • Water stewardship: We seek to implement and scale water-efficient solutions across our operations to lower costs, reduce dependencies, and lower usage.
  • Waste reduction: We are committed to driving toward a future goal of zero waste throughout our operations and routinely audit waste streams to identify opportunities for reduction.
  • Product innovation: We seek to integrate environmental considerations into the design, development, and delivery of our platform, evaluating environmental impacts related to Intuit products.
  • Supplier engagement: We engage with suppliers to understand their practices and collaborate to accelerate sustainability programs and performance in line with our standards, including expectations that suppliers set their own science-aligned targets.
  • Training and awareness: We connect our global workforce with our sustainability ambitions in meaningful ways, integrating sustainability into communication campaigns, and strive to involve employees across the business in our strategy and initiatives. We seek to promote sustainability in our network of enterprise customers, suppliers, and in our industry.
  • Environmental reporting and compliance: We are committed to transparent environmental reporting through a variety of voluntary and mandatory channels. Intuit will comply with all applicable environmental laws and regulations in jurisdictions where we operate.
