Shai Gilad

Mr. Gilad joined Science and Technology Ventures in September 2004.
Previously, he held several management positions at VocalTec Communications (VOCL), including regional sales manager—Europe and later strategic planning and global alliances manager.
In these roles, Mr. Gilad managed VocalTec's distribution channel activities in 16 countries and established company presence in several untapped markets.
As an independent consultant, he helped found the startup Gingerbit (now Olista).
Mr. Gilad served three years in the Israeli Defense Forces, first in combat duty and later as a diplomatic liaison officer to the regional United Nations battalions and the Jordanian military.
He received his BA from Tel Aviv University; his MA in Biotechnology from Columbia University in 2006.
