STX Europe ASA, formerly Aker Yards ASA, is a Norway-based company primarily engaged in the shipbuilding industry. The Company's principal activity is the construction of vessels within three business divisions: Cruise and Ferries, which constructs cruise ships, cruise ferries, as well as medium-sized and large passenger and cargo ferries; Merchant Vessels, which produces ships, including container vessels, chemical tankers, product tankers, arctic vessels and multipurpose vessels, and the Offshore and Specialized Vessels division, which is engaged in the construction of platform supply vessels (PSV), anchor handling tug supply vessels (AHTS), ice breakers, liquefied natural gas (LNG)-fueled ferries, seismic vessels, fishing, navy, research, coast guard and other specialized vessels. STX Europe ASA operates globally through 15 yards in Brazil, Finland, France, Norway, Romania and Vietnam, in addition to a 30% ownership in three yards in Germany and Ukraine.
