HMIC's primary business consists of originating and purchasing both conforming and non-conforming mortgage loans and the subsequent sale of these loans to Freddie Mac and the Government National Mortgage Association or other investors in the secondary market. Although it is no longer active in these business lines, the Company has a portfolio of commercial finance loans to small businesses secured by accounts receivable, inventory, machinery and equipment. On Septermber 5, 2006, the Company completed the acquisition of Molton, Allen & Williams Mortgage Company, LLC (MAW).
