Georgia Power Company (Georgia Power) is a vertically integrated utility providing electricity to retail customers within its service territory located within the State of Georgia and to wholesale customers in the Southeast. Georgia Power is engaged in the generation and purchase of electricity and the transmission, distribution and sale of electricity within the State of Georgia, at retail in over 600 communities (including Athens, Atlanta, Augusta, Columbus, Macon, Rome, and Savannah), as well as in rural areas, and at wholesale to Oglethorpe Power Corporation (OPC); Municipal Electric Authority of Georgia (MEAG Power); City of Dalton, Georgia, acting by and through its Board of Water, Light and Sinking Fund Commissioners (Dalton); various Electric membership corporations (EMCs), and non-affiliated utilities. The Company is a subsidiary of The Southern Company, which is a holding company. The Company is engaged in constructing Plant Vogtle Units 3 and 4.
