Alteo Agri Ltd, formerly Alteo Ltd is engaged in the production of sugar. It's segments include Mauritius, Tanzania and Kenya. The Company operates three sugar factories in Mauritius, Tanzania and Kenya. In addition to its sugar activities, it owns and operates three power plants: two in Mauritius and one in Tanzania. It is also focused on real estate sector. It manages a total of approximately 18,600 hectares of land, which includes sugarcane and palm trees cultivations, forest reserves and residential areas. The area under sugarcane cultivation totals over 11,250 hectares and it is subdivided into three regions: Mon Loisir, Union-Flacq and Beau-Champ. The Mon Loisir region is located in the northeast of Mauritius. The Union Flacq region consists of various agro-climatic areas and represents approximately 5,350 hectares. Within the Beau-Champ region, in the east and southeast, sugarcane is also cultivated on over 4,000 hectares of land with many different agro-climatic areas.
