Vassilios Rapanos

Vassilios T.
Rapanos is currently the Chairman of The Hellenic Bank Association and the National Bank of Greece Cultural Foundation.
He is also a Professor-Emeritus at the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens and a Member of the Academy of Athens since 2016.
In his former positions, Rapanos served as the Chairman of the National Bank of Greece SA from 2009 to 2012 and the Hellenic Telecommunications Organization SA from 1998 to 2000.
He was also the Chairman of the National Securities Single Member SA and the Chairman of The Hellenic Bank Association from 2009 to 2012.
Additionally, Rapanos held the position of Chairman-Council at the Ministry of Economy & Finance from 2000 to 2004 and served as the Non-Executive Chairman of Alpha Services & Holdings SA from 2014 to 2024.
He was a Director at the National Bank of Greece SA in 2004 and the Public Debt Management Agency from 2000 to 2004.
Rapanos also served as the Deputy Governor of the National Mortgage Bank of Greece SA from 1995 to 1998.
Rapanos obtained a doctorate degree from Queen's University.
He also holds a graduate degree from the University of Lakehead, conferred in 1977, and an undergraduate degree from Athens University of Economics & Business, conferred in 1975.
