AP is an active investor and manages diversified portfolios invested across asset classes, regions, industries and market caps. They manage discretionary portfolios according to the individual needs of their clients and basing investment decisions on fundamental research. The firm also manages two speciality funds, one of which is focused on companies active in the field of renewable energy including wind, water power, bio energy, solar energy, geothermal energy and wave power, as well as companies offering innovative solutions in the field of traditional energy resources. The fund primarily focuses on equity, has no geographic restrictions and may be invested in money market instruments and fixed-income securities. AP's other fund is designed to generate long-term appreciation of value through fundamental stockpicking. AP manages this fund with a value-orientation and a primary focus on European small- and mid-caps; however, they also include American and Asian companies in the portfolio. The portfolio is composed of equity securities including dividend right certificates and participation certificates, convertible bonds and bonds with warrants. The portfolio manager uses long/short strategies based on fundamental research and technical analyses as well as derivative instruments such as options, futures, forward foreign exchange transactions, currency swaps and interest rate swaps.
