Mr. Peter Branner is a Chief Investment Officer at Aberdeen Group Plc and a Chief Investment Officer at abrdn Investment Management Ltd. He joined the firmin May 2023 and has been a leader in the industry for more than 30 years.
Mr. Branner is responsible for the portfolio management organisation and the optimisation of funds and mandates in line with client expectations and the Aberdeen strategy.
Before joining Aberdeen, he spent 5 years as CIO and member of the executive committee of APG Asset Management in Amsterdam.
In this capacity he was executing the growth plan of the company and expanded the companies strong presence in real assets and sustainable investment management.
He served as CIO/CEO at SEB Asset Management in the 10 years following the great financial crisis in 2008 and played an instrument role in turning the company into a regional leader in several asset classes and in particular using quantitative techniques to optimise investment results.
Before a role as CIO of the multi manager devision at Fortis Investments in London, Mr. Branner spent 9 years in different financial roles at the IKEA Sphere, where he in 1994 was part of the team launching the first internet bank in Sweden.
He started his career as an analyst in 1988 and progressed to become head of trading at GiroBank in Denmark.
He holds a BA in Economics and an MA in Management & Strategy from CBS in Copenhagen.
