Lutz R. Raettig

Dr. Lutz R.
Raettig is a Chairman of the Supervisory Board at Morgan Stanley Bank AG.
He is on the Board of Directors at Messe Frankfurt GmbH.
He joined Morgan Stanley as Managing Director and Chairman of the Management Board of Morgan Stanley Bank AG, Frankfurt, in 1995.
From September 1995 until February 2005, he was CEO of Morgan Stanley Bank AG and Country Head for Germany and Austria.
Since 2002 he was also Vice Chairman of Morgan Stanley Europe.
He holds several positions in the financial center of Frankfurt.
Among other things, he is an honorary member of the Municipal Council of the City of Frankfurt am Main, Chairman of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange Council, a member of the Board of Directors of the Association of German Banks, a Member of the Supervisory Board at Clearstream International, a Member of the Supervisory Board of exhibition company Messe Frankfurt, Vice President of the Frankfurt Chamber of Industry and Commerce and the VHU Employers’ Federation of Hesse, Chairman of the Banking Committee at Frankfurt Chamber of Industry and Commerce, a Member of the Supervisory Board of the public utility company Stadtwerke Frankfurt am Main Holding GmbH and the municipal transport company VGF Frankfurt, and a Member of the Board of Directors of the American Chamber of Commerce in Germany and the German American Chamber of Commerce in New York.
He was a Director of Morgan Stanley International Ltd and is a Member of the Morgan Stanley Bank International Ltd London board.
Before joining Morgan Stanley, he worked 26 years for Commerzbank and Westdeutsche Landesbank (WestLB) in different locations in Germany, London, and New York.
From 1967 to 1970, he worked as an assistant professor at Hamburg University.
He obtained his high school-leaving certificate (Abitur) in Bremen and went on to study business administration and economics in Hamburg.
After graduating in 1967, he received his Ph.D.
in 1969.
