Madrona Funds serves as the sub-advisor to 3 actively managed ETFs. The funds are similar to index funds in that they invest in hundreds of stocks or bonds to reduce many of the potential statistical errors that occur in selecting a small number of stocks. Fund selection and allocations are based on analyst consensus estimates of the present value of future projected earnings relative to the price of each security. Madrona Funds strives to leverage the capabilities of the Internet and the real-time data points available from the leading global market research companies. Their Madrona Forward Valuation Model offers a distinct, value-added approach to broad-market investing. The Madrona Forward Domestic ETF (FWDD) invests in up to 500 of the largest US-traded equity securities. Consensus analyst estimates of the present value of future expected earnings relative to the share price of each security are then used to determine the proper weight of each investment. The Madrona Forward International ETF (FWDI) invests in a portfolio of at least 250 of the largest ADRs from among the largest issuers of Europe, Australasia, the Far East (EAFE) and Canada. FWDI's portfolio also includes ADRs that provide exposure to certain emerging markets. The Madrona Forward Global Bond ETF (FWDB) invests in other ETFs to create a diversified bond fund. It invests in at least 12 distinct global bond classes that cover the entire global investable bond universe. Once the ETF investments are selected, Madrona Funds employs historical yield curve analysis to determine the weight of each investment.
