Isobel Hughes

Isobel Hughes joined Actis in May 2019 and is a Director, in the Energy and Infrastructure Operations Team heading up the people, talent agenda for the Energy & Infra business.
Based in Nairobi she has over 16 years of international HR experience in the energy sector, working across Africa and South and Central America & Asia within Actis energy investee companies.
Isobel is passionate about people, with her focus in Actis on the Talent agenda for management teams, implementation of HR best practices and ensuring that all relevant HR systems and structures are in place in the Energy and infrastructure businesses.
Previously Isobel worked at Lekela (AE3) as Vice President Human Resources and was part of the management team of the business.
Before Lekela she was Vice President Human Resources at Globeleq (AE2), driving its HR strategy which included leading the HR change management of the successful divestiture of the Globeleq Africa business and being part of the management team.
Isobel holds a BA in Business and Economics and Post Grad Diploma in Human Resource Management.
