Mr. Vedder started his career with a commercial apprenticeship at the departement store group Hertie.
Being 19 he was the youngest purchasing offi cer at the Hertie group ever.
He has been an independent business man since the beginning 70's.
From 1970 until 1986 Mr. Vedder was one of Germany’s most successful sellers of tax reducing models.
Together with his partner Klaus-Peter Schneidewing he concentrated on investments on the markets of privateequity in already 1987.
He successfully performed the restructuring of underperforming companies and numerous takeovers in a profitable manner.
With his partner Klaus-Peter Schneidewind he also initiated the takeover of SPAR, i.e.
75%.
Based on his core activities in trade, Mr. Vedder expanded his sphere of action to differentiated business sections.
He invested in the private equity area in branches like real estate (IVG), bank (Commerzbank AG), environmental service and technology areas (BUS/Agor).
All investments including the Commerzbank were closed successfully.
During the past 25 years Mr. Vedder structured numerous cooperations and deals in miscellaneous financial business and industrial sectors.
Only the KMART/USA project were not completed due to a lack of implementation of a close-in-time exit.
Mr. Vedder initiated the Goldsmith Group in 2007.
Part of this group is the hedge fund Blacksmith Fund Ltd. The private equity fund Goldsmith Investments, a real estate private equity fund, as well as an infrastructure fund are planned for the near future.
