Volkswagen AG has launched the long-wheelbase version of the Tiguan at the 2017 Detroit Motor Show. The vehicle is designed specifically for American buyers and adds a more spacious interior. It is based on the company's Modular Transverse Matrix architecture. The model will be available with an updated version of Volkswagen's 2-litre turbocharged and direct- injection TSI engine, producing 184bhp and driving the front wheels coupled with an eight-speed automatic transmission. An all-wheel-drive system will be offered as an option.
