Quicksilver Resources Inc. is an independent oil and natural gas company. The Company is engaged in the acquisition, exploration, development and production of onshore oil and natural gas in North America. The Company focuses primarily on unconventional reservoirs where hydrocarbons may be found in geological conditions, such as fractured shales and coalbeds. The Company operates through the two segments: exploration and production segment and midstream segment. The Company's four core development and exploration areas include: the Barnett Shale, Horn River, Horseshoe Canyon and its oil exploration opportunity in the Delaware basin in western Texas. The Company's oil and natural gas producing properties in the United States are principally located in Texas and in Canada in Alberta and British Columbia. As of December 31, 2014, the Company had total proved reserves of around 1.1 trillion cubic feet of natural gas equivalents (Tcfe).
