Novo Nordisk contained a fire outbreak at a leased office building close to its headquarters in the Copenhagen suburb of Bagsvaerd, following prior blazes at company facilities in May.

The Danish drug maker--known for its weight-loss drugs Wegovy and Ozempic--said there weren't any indications that the latest blaze, whose cause remains unknown, is linked to the previous incidents or criminal activity.

"This afternoon a fire broke out in connection with roof work on an office building. The fire is under control and has not spread to any surrounding buildings," a spokesman for the company said.

The fire brigade and police are currently on site, the spokesman added.

Last month, fires occurred at a separate Novo Nordisk facility in Bagsvaerd and at a manufacturing site in Kalundborg, a city west of Copenhagen where the company produces its active pharmaceutical ingredients for diabetes and weight-loss drugs.
