Glencore Plc (LSE:GLEN) is considering additional sugar and ethanol mills takeovers in Brazil, three people familiar with the plan said on January 24, 2017. According to the first source, who asked for anonymity because the plans remain private, Glencore is seeking to add another mill to the portfolio of two it already has in order to expand its production cluster in Sao Paulo state. The person declined to elaborate on potential targets. Another person said Glencore is also in talks with Odebrecht Agroindustrial S.A. for a possible partnership by which Glencore would reopen and run the Alcídia mill located in the southeastern state of São Paulo. The media office of Glencore declined to comment, while Odebrecht Agroindustrial had no immediate comment.
