Costa Pinto SA, formerly Usina Costa Pinto SA Acucar e Alcool, is a Brazil-based holding company primarily engaged the sugarcane sector. Through its subsidiaries, the Company is involved in the sugar cane farming; production and sale of various products derived from sugarcane, including very high polarity sugar (VHP sugar) and ethanol; energy cogeneration from sugarcane bagasse; distribution and marketing of fuel; provision of logistic services, such as storage and port operations, and distribution and marketing of lubricants. In addition, it is engaged in the leasing of farmland, as well as in the residential real estate development. As of March 31, 2012, the Company had two direct subsidiaries, Santa Barbara Agricola SA and Classica Participacoes SA, and one affiliated company, Aguassanta Agricola SA.
