Board game company Asmodee reports revenue and adjusted operating profit that were higher than expected in the first quarter.

Revenue rose 26.6% to €442m (€349m). The outcome can be compared with Modular Finance's analyst consensus, which stood at €398m. Organic sales growth was 20.2% (34.4%).

'We have had a strong start to the new fiscal year and delivered double-digit sales and profit growth. At the same time, we continue to expand margins and generate strong cash flow. We achieved double-digit growth in both Board Games and Trading Card Games, with all continents contributing to the performance. The quarter further reflected the strength of our diversified business model. With leading positions in our categories and geographies, and a balanced portfolio of new releases and evergreen titles from both our own studios and partners, we are well positioned to capture growth opportunities wherever they arise,' says CEO Thomas Koegler.

'We continue to closely monitor geopolitical developments and changes in global trade policy. At the same time, we are well equipped to navigate the current environment and expect continued growth in both Board Games and Trading Card Games. In the coming quarters, we also expect to benefit from tariff refunds related to previously paid charges.'

Adjusted EBITDA amounted to €61.9m (€39.9m), versus €52m expected, with an adjusted EBITDA margin of 14.0% (11.4%).

Adjusted operating profit amounted to €54.1m (€32.9m), versus €43m expected, with an adjusted operating margin of 12.2% (9.4%).

Net profit came to €17m (-€1.6m).

Earnings per share were €0.072 (-€0.01).
