Profile
Prior to joining Pyramis and Fidelity in 1989, Mr. Binder was portfolio manager of Fidelity Select Regional Banks Portfolio from 1990 to 1994, Select Defense and Aerospace Portfolio from 1992 to 1994, Select Financial Services Portfolio from 1993 to 1994, Select Medical Delivery Portfolio from 1994 to 1996, and Fidelity Select Natural Gas Portfolio from 1996 through 1997.
These funds are available only to American investors.
From 1997 to September 1999, Mr. Binder covered Canadian securities in the cable television, utilities, pipelines, and telecommunications sectors in his role as fundamental analyst on the Canadian equity research team.
Mr. Binder was associate portfolio manager for Fidelity Canada Fund and Fidelity Capital Builder Fund for Canadian investors from July 1998 to September 1999, and portfolio manager of Fidelity Canada Fund from October 1999 to October 2002.
Mr. Binder has since joined Pyramis.
Mr. Binder received a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from Harvard College and an MBA from the University of Chicago.
