Mr. Spencer C.
Smith is a Senior Managing Director & Head of Institutional Investments at Chevy Chase Trust Co. He is responsible for the management of all institutional portfolios and is co-manager with Amy Raskin of the global thematic focused portfolio, Chevy Chase Trust’s institutional flagship.
He works closely with the research team where he was previously Director of Research before assuming his current role.
Prior to joining Chevy Chase Trust, Mr. Smith was Managing Director, Portfolio Manager and co-head of the Washington D.C.
office of Fiduciary Trust Company International.
Before that, he was an investment professional at Morgan Stanley, Emerging Markets Management LLC, and Riggs Investment Management Corporation.
Mr. Smith earned a Master of Business Administration from the Yale School of Management.
He also earned a Master of Arts from The George Washington University Elliott School of International Affairs.
He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Oregon where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa and cum laude.
