Richard A. Perez

Mr. Richard A. Perez is a Co-Founder & Chief Investment Officer at Matters Capital LLC.
He has over 20 years of financial services and investment experience and has spent his career investing across public and private markets on behalf of family offices, high net worth individuals, and institutions.
Previously, Mr. Perez was a Founding Partner and Managing Director at Cynosure Wealth Advisors, where he served as Chief Investment Officer.
In this role, he provided strategic investment counsel to wealthy families, closely held business owners, and family offices, with a particular focus on investment strategy, management, and execution.
Before joining Cynosure, he was Senior Managing Director and Chief Investment Strategist for the Modern Family Office at Silicon Valley Bank (SVB).
Prior to his time at SVB, he was the Chief Investment Officer of the family office business at 40 North Management, a multibillion-dollar New York-based RIA, where he oversaw the firm’s external manager and advisory platform.
Mr. Perez joined 40 North from Soros Fund Management, where he led the external manager selection team, investing on behalf of the Soros family and affiliated foundations.
He began his career at Goldman Sachs, where he was a Vice President in Goldman Sachs Asset Management’s Hedge Fund Strategies group and Head of Research for the Tactical Trading Strategies sector.
He holds a Master of Business Administration from The Wharton School and a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics from Harvard University.
