Mr. Peter A. Needham is a Vice President of Financial Life Planning at American Economic Planning Group, Inc. and a Chairman & Chief Executive Officer at James Walker Group Ltd. His background spans over 22 years with major investment banks, where he held senior positions in treasury management.
He works with clients from all walks of life, and serves a large number of executives and lawyers.
Mr. Needham spent over 18 years at Morgan Stanley where he held several positions based in New York and London.
He managed their Funding Desk in New York, where he was responsible for issuing the firm’s short and medium-term debt.
He spent three years in London as Treasurer for Morgan Stanley International.
During this period the firm’s European staff more than doubled and the balance sheet reached $50 billion.
He led the initiative to raise multi-currency debt in the European markets.
He was responsible for hedging the firm’s currency risk, cash management and insurance for operations in London, Frankfurt, Paris, Luxembourg and Milan.
He returned to New York to become Treasurer of Morgan Stanley Trust Company, the global custody division, where he led the effort to build a $130 million revenue center for cash management, foreign exchange and securities lending.
His experience also includes managing a financing and trading desk at Barclays Capital and Global Treasurer for Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette’s Pershing Division.
He holds a BS in Finance from Villanova University and a MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University, and he is also a Certified Financial Planner professional.
