Dr. Bütler's former positions include being the Director & Professor at the Swiss Institute for Empirical Economic Research from 2004 to 2021.
She was also a Member of the Bank Council at the Schweizerische Nationalbank from 2010 to 2022.
Dr. Bütler served as an Assistant Professor at the University of Tilburg from 1997 to 2001 and as the Dean at the University of St. Gallen from 2009 to 2013.
She was a Professor at the University of St. Gallen from 2004 to 2021 and at the University of Lausanne from 1999 to 2004.
Dr. Bütler was also a Member of the Swiss Federal Commission for Economic Issues and the President of the Swiss Society of Economics & Statistics from 2016 to 2017.
She served as a Trustee at the Richard Büchner Foundation from 2016 to 2018 and as a Member of the Suva City Council from 2016 to 2019.
Dr. Bütler obtained a doctorate degree from the University of St. Gallen in 1997.
She also holds undergraduate degrees from the University of Zurich and the University of Bern.
