Mr. Michael J.
LeVar, CFA, is a Managing Director of Strategies & Manager Research at Ascension Investment Management LLC.
He is responsible for the selection and monitoring of all income-related strategies and has over 30 years of investment industry experience.
Prior to joining Ascension Investment Management in 2011, Mr. LeVar worked for Mercer Investment Group.
He came to Mercer through their acquisition of Hammond Associates in January 2011.
At Hammond Associates, he was the Director of Hedge Funds and the Director of New Service Development.
His role entailed portfolio management for several internal fund offerings, manager research and due diligence, and product structuring.
Prior to joining Hammond, he held portfolio management and due diligence positions with NIP, Alpha Plus Investment Management Company and Mansur Capital Corporation.
He began his career with Horton Investment Services, a boutique alternative investment firm, eventually rising to the position of Chief Investment Officer.
He is a CFA charter holder, a graduate of Quincy College, and holds a Master’s Degree in Mathematics from Michigan State University.
