Nordwind Capital is an active manager which invests in larger mid-market companies with significant earnings improvement potential which are headquartered in German-speaking countries in Europe (Germany, Switzerland and Austria). They do not have a specific industry focus and invest in companies with significant operational value creation potential, except for fashion, gambling, arms, and large-scale engineering companies. The firm typically seeks to invest EUR 40-60 million in companies with sales revenues of EUR 0.1-2 billion, a good competitive position (particularly technology-wise) and which operate in markets that are at least stable. For investments up to EUR 300 million, they co-invest with their institutional investors. Nordwind Capital partners with the management teams of their investee companies in their efforts to make their companies continuously more successful, jointly creating 'value creation plans' and supporting their implementation through board positions. Particular areas of interest are improvement potentials in operational efficiencies, asset and working capital utilization, quality and yield management, purchasing systems and supply chain management incentive systems. The firm offers investee management equity stakes in the company, aligning their interests and allowing them to share in the company's success.
