Capvis is an active manager and invests in well-positioned midsize companies worldwide. The emphasis is on Germany, Switzerland and Austria with a focus on healthcare, industrial technology, advanced services and software. It typically targets succession situations, change of ownership, corporate spin-offs, shareholder buyouts or expansion capital. It does not invest in turnarounds. The firm generally invests EUR 15 million in companies with company values of EUR 100-500 million, aiming to identify strategic values in leading companies, take substantial equity stakes, support management to move the company to a new level of excellence and achieve an excellent return on the capital employed. It usually invests for a period of four to six years, working in consultation with management to prepare the transition to a new shareholder structure, generally achieved by IPOs or trade sales.
