Mr. Emilio J.
Cárdenas is Senior Advisor at The Scowcroft Group, Inc. He is on the Board of Directors at Empresa Distribuidora Electrica Regional SA. Mr. Cárdenas practiced law in Argentina for thirty years, and since 1996 has been advising national and foreign clients in the fields of international business transactions, oil and gas, joint-ventures, privatizations, infrastructure projects, and project financing.
In particular, Mr. Cárdenas advised foreign clients in various privatizations in the telecommunications, oil and gas and energy sectors.
As a scholar of international legal and economic affairs, he has lectured in a variety of international forums.
He is the author of several books and numerous articles on oil and gas legal matters, foreign investment topics, privatizations and financial and other related matters.
He is a contributor to all Argentine major newspapers, and he is a member of the Editorial Advisory Board of the Journal of International Economic Law and Director of “Agenda Internacional”'.
Mr. Cárdenas has also been a member of various Boards of Directors of corporations involved in oil and gas ventures, maritime transportation, banking, insurance, pension funds, medical care, electric distribution, agriculture, tire production, real estate development, etc.
Mr. Cárdenas received his undergraduate degree from Universidad de Buenos Aires, an undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan, and a graduate degree from Universidad de Buenos Aires.
