David L. Grimes

As President of Tropic Networks, Mr. Grimes is responsible for corporate strategy, executive client relationship management, business development, and on-going leadership of Tropic’s Sales, Marketing and Product Line Management teams.
Most recently, Mr. Grimes was the President, Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer of Sykes Enterprises Incorporated, a public company (NASDAQ) headquartered in Tampa, FL.
While there, Mr. Grimes was instrumental in building Sykes into a $500M+ public global technology services company, which now operates in 29 countries around the world.
Prior to assuming leadership of Sykes, Mr. Grimes split his career between SBC and AT&T before retiring from AT&T as a Regional Vice President in Business Services.
Mr. Grimes, extensive career spans over 35 years, covers both domestic and international ventures and includes numerous executive level positions in operations, sales and marketing at AT&T, ShareTech Inc. and Southwestern Bell Telephone Company.
He has served on numerous boards, holds valuable industry memberships and affiliations and has published a variety of significant industry articles.
Mr. Grimes is a graduate of the Harvard Graduate School of Business: International Senior Managers’ Program and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from Central State University, Edmond, Oklahoma.
