David Hugh Tovey

Mr. David H.
Tovey, CFA, is a Chief Investment Officer at Covale Capital (UK) LLP.
He joined Merrill Lynch Investment Managers on their Investment graduate program in 1998.
He moved to the small / mid-cap biased European Specialist team one year later, having enjoyed a year focused on US small caps.
As team deputy head he was co-manager for the launch of a suite of long / short products across European and Swiss strategies after the BlackRock merger, before moving to the European team in 2013.
In May 2017 his responsibilities were expanded to the European Absolute return strategy.
By the time of his departure he was Managing Director and deputy head of the European team.
While a fund manager for twenty years, he maintained varied research responsibilities throughout, including a consistent coverage of European healthcare names.
He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Warwick.
