Boris Augurzky

Dr. Boris Augurzky is a Head of Health Economics at RWI - Leibniz-Institut für Wirtschaftsforschung e.V.
Since 2003, Dr. Boris Augurzky has been Chief of the health economics department at RWI.
Additionally, since 2007 he has been managing partner of the Institute for Health Care Business GmbH (hcb) and since 2014, scientific CEO of the Foundation Muench.
In 2016 he was appointed professor at the University of Duisburg-Essen.
His research focuses on the in-patient sector (hospitals, nursing homes, rehabilitation), health insurance, and reforming the health system.
Between 2001 and 2003, he worked as a consultant at The Boston Consulting Group in Germany, focusing on the financial services industry and risk management issues.
He studied economics and mathematics at the University of Heidelberg, Germany.
He finished his Ph.D.
in econometrics in 2000.
