Ms. Betsy C.
Shelton is a Director of Research & Senior Portfolio Manager at Charles Fish Investments, Inc. She has worked in the securities industry since 1972 and has been with the firm since 1996, where she is responsible for overseeing the extensive due diligence performed by the company’s research department.
Her primary responsibilities include oversight of the firm’s credit assessment and monitoring practices.
In this capacity she researches, evaluates, and monitors client assets; performs impact analyses on regulatory, judicial and legislative issues; and maintains the firm’s extensive credit database, surveillance of the firm’s monthly valuation process, identifying pricing inaccuracies relative to market considerations, and administration of the firm’s year-end tax reports including management of the amortization/accretion process on municipal securities, both tax-exempt and taxable.
Additionally, she routinely interfaces with clients with regard to their portfolio assets, investment strategies, and other needs.
Ms. Shelton was previously employed as a Principal by Bateman, Eichler, Hill Richards Realty Co., Inc., a Vice President by Dean Witter, a Vice President by First Boston Corp., and a Principal by Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC.
She earned a degree in Economics from the University of Redlands and has also completed advanced studies through UCLA, UCI, and AIMR.
She holds a paralegal certificate from the University of California, Irvine.
