Arvid M. Carlsson

Arvid Carlsson, M.D., Ph.D., has been a consultant to the Company since April 2002.
A co-recipient of the 2000 Nobel Prize for Medicine, Dr. Carlsson is currently Chief Executive Officer of Carlsson Research, a development stage neuroscience company that grew out of his research in the Department of Pharmacology at the University of Goteborg, Sweden.
Dr. Carlsson is Professor Emeritus at the University of Goteborg, and is a member of the Swedish Academy of Sciences and a foreign affiliate of the U.S.
National Academy of Sciences.
Dr. Carlsson has authored several hundred articles, which have helped to form the basis of modern neuropsychopharmacology.
In 1975, he was elected as a Foreign Corresponding Fellow of The American College of Neuropsychopharmacology.
In addition to the Nobel Prize, he has been the recipient of The Japan Prize in Psychology and Psychiatry, The Research Prize of the Lundbeck Foundation (Denmark) and the Lieber Prize (USA) for research in schizophrenia.
Dr. Carlsson's memberships include Member of the Academia Europaea, Member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, Honorary Fellow of the World Federation of Societies of Biological Psychiatry, Honorary Foreign Associate of the Institute of Medicine, National Academy of Sciences, U.S.A. and Honorary Member of the German Society of Biological Psychiatry.
Dr. Carlsson received his M.D.
and Ph.D.
in Pharmacology from the University of Lund, Sweden.
