Threats to the Fed, Rush for Gold
European stock markets are kicking off this second full week of January in a nervous mood, weighed down by a tense geopolitical climate and growing friction between Donald Trump and Jerome Powell, the head of the Federal Reserve. By mid-morning, the CAC 40 was down 0.38% at 8,330.34 points. The EuroStoxx 50 slipped 0.43% to 5,971.90 points. The Dax was virtually flat (-0.03%).
