UBS Group AG has appointed Brendan Tu to lead its ESG Advisory in the Asia Pacific, part of plans to expand the Swiss bank's ESG coverage in the region, according to an internal memo reviewed by The Wall Street Journal.

Mr. Tu, a former chief investment officer and vice president of Foxconn Industrial Internet Co., will rejoin UBS to help promote the group's environmental, social and governance credentials across global banking and aid the growth of sustainable finance products for the bank. He begins in February.

Mr. Tu will be based in Hong Kong and report to Laurent Bouvier, Global Head of ESG Advisory in London, as well as to Gaetano Bassolino, Head of Global Banking APAC, the memo said.
