(Alliance News) - On Friday, Stellantis NV reaffirmed its commitment to grow its data and connected services offering by launching Mobilisights, a new independent business unit.

Its new offering, Mobilisights, is designed to grow the company's data as a service business and develop and license business-to-business products, applications and services.

The new unit will leverage Stellantis' connected vehicle data, which is expected to reach 34 million by 2030.

It stands as one of seven accretive business units announced in the Dare Forward 2030 strategic plan, under which Stellantis plans to be carbon neutral by 2038.

"Mobilisights' vision is to contribute to a smarter world by leveraging the information provided by vehicle data to inspire innovative solutions and services that can greatly transform and improve the daily lives of users and businesses," said Sanjiv Ghate, CEO of Mobilisights.

"With its 14 iconic brands and millions of connected vehicles, Stellantis has unparalleled global data scale that can drive this business forward," Ghate added.

Stellantis' stock is down 1.9 percent at EUR14.07 per share.
