BERLIN (dpa-AFX) - After the warning strike at the capital's BER airport, operations resumed Thursday morning. The first planes took off and landed again, an airport spokesman said Thursday morning. He expected around 40,000 to 45,000 passengers for the day, which was several thousand more than usual. In addition, 27 more aircraft movements - takeoffs or landings - were planned, he said. A total of around 400 flights are planned for Thursday.

The previous day, a warning strike had paralyzed the airport. 300 takeoffs and landings were canceled, around 35,000 passengers were affected. Because some aircraft did not reach BER because of this, isolated flights were still cancelled on Thursday morning: Five flights were canceled for this reason, including to Amsterdam and London, said the airport spokesman./kil/DP/stk
