The Ministry of Ecological Transition and Territorial Cohesion announced today that it had appointed the group composed of the companies Eiffage (agent) and APRR to initiate exclusive negotiations for the motorway link between Machilly and Thonon-les-Bains in Haute-Savoie.

The project consists of designing, building and operating a 2x2 lane motorway infrastructure of approximately 16 km connecting Machilly to Thonon-les-Bains, called A412. Complementary to the development of the public transport offer, this operation is part of the program to open up Chablais. It will serve and irrigate the area located south of Thonon-les-Bains, from the Annemasse-Geneva agglomeration and the A40 motorway, and improve exchanges between the different centers of attraction of the region, by reducing and making travel times more reliable and improving user safety.

This concession, for a period of 55 years, will be carried out without any balancing subsidy from the State or the Department of Haute-Savoie. Furthermore, the offer selected from the prospective concessionaire includes a pricing policy favoring the use of the new motorway link by local users, in particular for home-work journeys.

Very committed to creating a resilient and sustainable infrastructure, creating value for Chablais and its inhabitants, Eiffage will mobilize its know-how in responsible territorial planning to implement an ambitious ecological integration of the project, going beyond the regulatory requirements. This approach will make it possible to promote and support agricultural production in Chablais, as part of a proactive policy of preserving biodiversity and restoring ecosystem services. The infrastructure is sized to anticipate and cope with new climatic constraints, and integrates from its design, innovative and low-carbon construction methods, as well as support for the development of complementary alternative modes of transport, such as the creation of a cycle route along the route or carpool parking lots equipped with electric charging stations. Its operation will benefit from the experience and strong roots of the Group in Haute-Savoie, current concessionaire of the AREA and ADELAC networks.
