DCC acquires solar installer Sys EnR in France

The Butagaz group, a multi-energy supplier and multi-service provider, has acquired French solar company Sys EnR, which provides design, construction and maintenance services for solar panel and solar thermal installations. Butagaz is accelerating investment in solar panels and low carbon energy solutions, leading customers to net zero with renewable energy sources. The Butagaz group is part of DCC plc, the leading international sales, marketing, and support services group.

In 2021, Butagaz acquired Soltéa and Solewa, French regional leaders and experts in the installation and maintenance of solar photovoltaic systems. Over the past year, we have strengthened our local energy transition services, offering new solar panel solutions to customers. Now, Butagaz shows its ambition by expanding its solar services nationally.

Butagaz has a strategy to provide sustainable multi-energy and multi-service offers for its customers. The acquisition of Sys EnR strengthens the Butagaz offering. Our sustainable energy solutions in France include solar advisory and installation, energy management in the service sector, installation of EV charging points, and new energies such as biopropane, biomethane, green electricity and wood pellets.

Emmanuel Trivin, Chairman of the Butagaz Group, stated:"We are proud to welcome Sys EnR, specialising in renewable energies, into the Butagaz group. The acquisition allows us to respond to the different uses and needs of our customers right across France. We are committed to low-carbon solutions and focusing our development strategy and expertise on competitive and environmentally friendly energies across France."

Franc Raffalli, CEO of Sys EnR, commented:"We are delighted to be joining Butagaz, contributing to its position in the French solar photovoltaics market. Starting now, our shared commitment will allow us to deliver new projects more quickly, drawing on the technical skills of our combined teams and the group's strength."

Fabian Ziegler, CEO of DCC Energy, added:"At DCC, we are Leading with Energy by broadening the energy transition solutions that we offer to our customers globally. Butagaz is an essential player in solar energy solutions and sustainable services in France, and we are thrilled to see it pursue its strategic shift to become a multi-energy and multi-service group."

A synergy of expertise to promote low-carbon energies

With 49 employees and c.€10 million in turnover in 2022, Sys EnR is a leader in the commercial and industrial segment and self-sufficiency projects in France. Founded in 2007, Sys EnR has delivered over 500 installations, with a total installed capacity exceeding 300 MW.
