Amazon.com, Inc. (NasdaqGS:AMZN) has become the latest company to be linked with buying Manchester United plc (NYSE:MANU), according to the Daily Mail's Liam Morgan, who says sources close to the sale "claim" Amazon is "a possible buyer." Another U.K. tabloid, the Daily Star, had previously claimed that Apple (AAPL) was interested in buying Manchester United, subsequent to which a source "with direct knowledge of the situation" told MacRumors' Joe Rossignol that Apple was not currently planning to purchase the soccer club.
