John R. Niland

Dr. John R.
Niland is Chairman-International Academic Review Panel at Singapore Management University, Chairman at Campus Living Funds Management Ltd. and Professor-Emeritus at The University of New South Wales.
He is on the Board of Directors at Macquarie Bank Ltd. He is currently Chairman of Campus Living Funds Management Limited and Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Singapore Management University.
Mr. Niland is a Professor Emeritus of the University of New South Wales (UNSW) and was Vice-Chancellor and President of UNSW from 1992 to 2002.
Before that Dr. Niland was the Dean of the Faculty of Commerce and Economics.
Dr. Niland is a former Chief Executive of the State Pollution Control Commission and Executive Chairman of the Environment Protection Authority.
He has served on the Australian Universities Council, the Prime Minister's Science, Engineering and Innovation Council, the boards of the Centennial Park and Moore Park Trust, realestate.com.au Limited, St Vincent's Hospital, the Sydney Symphony Orchestra Foundation, the Sydney Olympic bid's Building Commission and the University Grants Committee of Hong Kong.
He is a former President of the National Trust of Australia (NSW).
He received his undergraduate degree from The University of New South Wales, a graduate degree from The University of New South Wales and a doctorate degree from the University of Illinois.
