Jan 24 (Reuters) - Australia's Woodside Energy on Wednesday said it expects a jump in 2024 production, while reporting a 3% sequential rise in fourth-quarter revenue on higher realised prices.

Australia's top independent gas producer, currently in preliminary talks for a $52 billion merger with smaller rival Santos, said it expects 2024 production to be between 185 million and 195 million barrels of oil equivalent (mmboe).

Production for 2023 came in at 187.2 mmboe, at the top end of its forecast range of 183 to 188 mmboe. (Reporting by Himanshi Akhand and Ayushman Ojha in Bengaluru; Editing by Sriraj Kalluvila)
