"Markus Duesmanndeserves our sincere thanks for all he has done at Audi. He launched an ambitious electrification strategy, achieved an important strategic milestone with the E-Roadmap and by setting the course for a complete switch to e-mobility, created a clear framework, at an early stage, for the systematic reorganisation of Audi," said the Chairman of Volkswagen's Supervisory Board, Hans Dieter Pötsch. "With Gernot Döllner, Audi is gaining a manager with a great deal of experience in the Group and with the products who will consistently advance and develop Audi's strategy," Pötsch added.
Born in Lower Saxony, Gernot Döllner studied mechanical engineering and joined Volkswagen as a doctoral student in 1993. He held a number of managerial positions at Porsche AG, including as head of Concept Development and head of the Panamera series. He has been the head of Product and Group Strategy and the General Secretariat in the Volkswagen Group since 2021.
