Audi, part of the Volkswagen Group, announced on Monday its intention to deepen its collaboration with Chinese carmaker SAIC, with which it plans to set up an electric vehicle development platform specifically for the Chinese market.

With the launch of this project, dubbed the 'Advanced Digitized Platform', the two groups say they aim to develop a new generation of connected, intelligent vehicles.

The cooperation involves the design of three new electric vehicle models in the B (city car) and C (compact car) segments, to be marketed from 2025.

According to Audi, the idea is to reduce vehicle time-to-market by more than 30%.

The Chinese electric vehicle market is currently considered the most dynamic in the world.
