(Alliance News) - The Mib index closed up just below 27,500 Tuesday evening, with trading rooms weighing the latest U.S. CPI inflation report.

This cooled slightly year-on-year for the seventh consecutive month to 6.4 percent in January but above market estimates of 6.2 percent and clearly well above the Fed's target of 2.0 percent, confirming expectations that the U.S. central bank will continue to raise rates.

Just on the possible path of the Federal Reserve, in the CME Group platform's FedWatch Tool - using futures also based on the actual federal funds rate or EFFR - the main rate hike for the March 22 meeting has a 91% probability of a hike in the 475/500 bps range. In contrast, the probability of an increase in the 500/525 bps area is at 9%. The current target is between 450 and 475 bps.

Meanwhile, Eurozone GDP and employment data have strengthened the feeling that the Old Continent's economy can escape recession and consequently causing USD1.07 support to hold at the single currency's plunge over the greenback.

On the domestic front, the right-wing coalition won landslide victories in the regional elections in Lombardy and Lazio, confirming the leadership of Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and the significant decline of the opposition, where the PD was confirmed as the first party.

Thus, the FTSE Mib closes ahead 0.2 percent at 27,498.26 and bringing the year-to-date gain to over 16 percent.

The Mid-Cap closed up 0.4 percent to 44,669.49, while the Small-Cap rose 0.1 percent to 30,258.88 and Italy Growth picked up 0.1 percent to 9,670.84.

In Europe, Paris' CAC 40 finished in the green by 0.1 percent as did London's FTSE 100, while Frankfurt's DAX 40 gave up 0.1 percent.

On the main list in Piazza Affari, boost on Tenaris on the eve of the release of results. The stock rises 2.4 percent, setting the price at EUR16.19.

Purchases also on Saipem, which rises 1.8% to EUR1.44 after the eve's red of 5.7%.

Iveco Group, on the other hand, gives up 2.4 percent, subject to profit taking after three sessions of significant rises due to its excellent results for 2021 published days ago.

Stellantis, on the other hand, gives up 1.7 percent, reversing from eve's green with 0.6 percent.

Enel Finance International NV, a Dutch-registered holding company controlled by Enel Spa, on Monday launched a two-tranche sustainability-linked bond on the eurobond market aimed at institutional investors for a total of EUR1.5 billion. The stock gives up 0.4 percent.

On the cadet list, Zignago Vetro rises 5.3% to EUR17.02, closing for the fifth session in a row in the green.

LUVE gives up 1.4 percent, subject to profit taking after six sessions in a row ended with a positive balance, bringing the price back to EUR31.30.

Tinexta, on the other hand, gives up 2.4 percent, following eve's green with 2.6 percent to EUR25.00.

Rear-ends also for Ascopiave, which gives up 2 percent. The stock closed the session with high trading volume at 184,000, compared to the three-month daily average of around 76,000.

On the Small-Cap, Banca Sistema gives up 4.2 percent, in the red for the third consecutive session. The company last week released its 2022 numbers, which closed with a net profit of EUR22.0 million from EUR23.3 million as of Dec. 31, 2021. Net interest income stands at EUR85.4 million, up 4.0 percent from EUR81.9 million in 2021.

LVEnture, on the other hand, retreats 1.1 percent, placing it on the bearish side for the fourth session in a row.

Elica -- in a 0.4% letter -- reported Tuesday that it had revenues of EUR548.6 million in FY2022, up 1.4% from EUR541.3 million in FY2021. Earnings for the period relating to 2022, amounted to EUR17.8 million, up 1.8 percent from EUR17.5 million in 2021.

Among the bullish, segment minority, Eukedos moves ahead 7.1 percent after 4.8 percent in the previous session.

Among SMEs, Bellini Nautica rises 4.7%, bringing the price to EUR2.24.

CY4Gate - up 0.2 percent - reported Tuesday that the total value of contracts acquired in recent weeks in the cybersecurity segment amounts to about EUR1.3 million, for the duration of one year.

Farmaé -- ahead 3.7 percent -- reported Tuesday that it had posted a 41 percent increase in its 2022 consolidated revenues to EUR116.6 million from the EUR82.5 million recorded as of Dec. 31, 2021, and up 13 percent from the EUR102.5 million in pro forma 2021 consolidated revenues.

CrowdFundme, on the other hand, gives up 6.6 percent after two sessions closed in the green.

Imprendiroma gives ground with 5.5 percent, compared to eve's green with 7.6 percent. The company reported Monday that as of Dec. 31 the backlog of contracted orders, to be executed in the two-year period 2022-2023, amounted to EUR165.3 million, showing a significant increase in the value of orders already started, which stood at EUR121.5 million.

In New York-with stock exchanges in full trading mode-the Dow is giving up 1.0 percent, the Nasdaq 0.7 percent, and the S&P 500 is in the red by 0.8 percent.

Among currencies, the euro changes hands at USD1.0716 versus USD1.0720 at Monday's close. In contrast, the pound is worth USD1.2149 from USD1.2135 on Monday evening.

Among commodities, Brent crude is worth USD85.19 per barrel versus USD86.12 per barrel on Monday evening. Gold, on the other hand, trades at USD1,848.00 an ounce from USD1,853.95 an ounce at Monday's close.

On Wednesday's macroeconomic calendar, at 0800 CET, from the United Kingdom will come the inflation, producer price and retail price index. At the same time, from Germany, room for the wholesale price index.

At 1100 CET, eyes on industrial production and the Eurozone trade balance.

From the States, at 1300 CET, focus on the mortgage market report; at 1430 CET, retail sales will be released; and, at 1515 CET, the industrial production figure will be released.

At 1630 CET, space for crude oil stocks, EIA count, and Cushing's inventory. At 1900 CET, an auction of 20-year Treasury bonds will be held.

Among the companies in the Piazza Affari, the results of Autogrill, EdiliziAcrobatica, Edison, eVISO, GEL, GPI, Interpump, Leone Film Group, and Tenaris are forthcoming.
