SUNONWEALTH ELECTRIC MACHINE INDUSTRY CO., LTD. Sunon's 2022 Corporate Sustainability Report is an annual summary detailing our progress and performance on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) material aspects. Conforming to the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards, Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), and Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB), this report serves to communicate and highlight our efforts and commitment to ESG priorities for our stakeholders.
In the 2022 materiality assessment, Sunon's cross-functional Sustainability Development Committee has taken part in the decision-making and management of the ESG strategy and has pinpointed and prioritized 9 significant issues. These include "Raw Material Management," "Green Product Development," "Talent Acquisition and Retention," "Career Development and Training," "Climate Change," "Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions," "Green Procurement," "Waste Management," and "Energy Management". Notably, we completed the GHG Inventory at the corporate level for the first time in 2022 and commissioned the accredited third-party certification body DNV Business Assurance to provide independent assurance for our 2022 reports. As of June 2023, our Corporate Sustainability Report has received a moderate level of assurance, and our GHG Inventory has obtained a reasonable level of assurance.
In our pursuit to reduce GHG emissions, we are dedicated to conducting an annual GHG Inventory at the corporate level to identify GHG hotspots within our operations. Additionally, we plan to join the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) for carbon emission reduction in Q4 2023, thereby demonstrating our commitment to limiting global temperature rise to 1.5°C. To ensure our vision of carbon emission reduction materializes and to participate in global sustainability development, we will continue to collaborate with our customers, and our supply chain, and support the "Taiwan's Pathway to Net-Zero Emissions by 2050" proposed by the Taiwan Government.
SUNON constantly focuses on ESG practices. Firstly, we manage our business with the purpose of proactively developing energy-saving technologies and products, aiming to provide total thermal solutions and services to industries related to environmental sustainability. We are also eager to go green internally, putting green supply chain management and smart manufacturing into practice, and we build our workplaces with diversity, inclusion, and talent cultivation in mind. Our staff is encouraged to participate in social events such as advocating for environmental protection and taking part in outreach programs for people with disadvantages. We are constantly taking actions to achieve our goal of long-term sustainability.
