FCA closed 2018 with full-year sales in Europe (EU28 + EFTA) totaling more than 1,021,000 vehicles and market share at 6.5%.
In December, Group sales totaled nearly 61,000 vehicles and market share was 5.9%.Results were particularly positive in France and Spain. In France, full-year sales were up 12.8% year-over- year (compared to 3.3% for the industry) and market share was 0.4 percentage points higher at 4.6%. In Spain, sales grew 20.2% year-over-year (+7.0% for the industry) and market share increased to 6.1% (5.4% in 2017). Results were also positive in Germany, where FCA sales were up 0.6% for the year, compared to a decline of 0.2% for the industry.2018 was a particularly exceptional year for both the Jeep brand and the Fiat 500. Jeep brand sales in Europe were up 55.6% year-over-year and market share increased to 1.1% (0.7% in 2017). In its eleventh year since launch, the Fiat 500 sold nearly 194,000 units in Europe (+1.3% year-over-year), representing an all-time annual record.

Jeep posted another record year to mark five consecutive year-over-year sales records in Europe, with 2018 sales double the 2015 level. Full-year sales were up 55.6% to nearly 168,700 vehicles and market share was 0.4 percentage points higher at 1.1%. This represented, by far, the highest year-over-year increase of any automotive brand in Europe.Brand performance was also significant in direct comparison to the segments in which it is present, with full-year sales up 55.6% compared to just 14.7% for those market segments. Market share was up 0.8 percentage points year-over-year to 3.2%.In December, Jeep brand sales were up 35.8% to 12,600 vehicles (9,300 in December 2017) and market share increased to 1.2% (0.8% in December 2017).Full-year sales were higher in nearly all major markets, increasing 70.8% in Italy, 27.9% in Germany, 21.1% in France and 102.6% in Spain.Brand results were driven by the Jeep Renegade and Jeep Compass. The Renegade continued as one of the best-selling models in its segment with 5,900 vehicles sold in December (+11.1% year-over-year) and nearly 74,200 vehicles sold for the year (+1.2%). The new Jeep Compass also posted positive results with December sales nearly doubling year-over-year to more than 5,000 vehicles (approx. 2,550 in December 2017) and full-year sales up 380.4% to 75,600 vehicles.

Alfa Romeo posted 2018 sales of nearly 83,000 vehicles and European market share was stable at 0.5%. In December, brand sales totaled more than 4,000 vehicles and market share was 0.4%.Results were particularly positive in Spain, where sales increased 11.9% in December and 17.0% for the year. The Alfa Romeo Stelvio closed the year with December sales up 21.9% to 1,900 vehicles. For the year, Stelvio sales increased 73.5% to 29,400 vehicles and it was the best-selling model in its segment in Italy.

Fiat brand sales totaled nearly 711,300 vehicles and share was 4.6%. In December, brand sales totaled 39,200 vehicles and share was in line with the prior year at 3.8%.Full-year sales increased 14.7% in France (versus 3.3% for the industry) and 7.9% in Spain (7.0% for the industry).In 2018, the brand's leading models achieved significant results. Sales of the Fiat 500 were up 1.3% for the year to nearly 194,000 vehicles. In its eleventh year since launch, it was leader in the European A segment and set an all-time annual sales record as well as achieving its second highest segment share (14.9%).The Fiat Panda posted December sales of nearly 13,300 vehicles (+26.9% year-over-year) and, with full-year sales of nearly 168,700 vehicles, it was second only to the Fiat 500 in the European A segment. The Fiat 500 and Fiat Panda held a combined segment share of nearly 28.0%. Sales of the Fiat 500L totaled nearly 52,200 vehicles, making it once again one of the top three in its segment. The Fiat 500X also continued among the leaders in its segment with 96,600 vehicles sold for the year. The Fiat 124 Spider was the best-selling vehicle in its segment in December with sales up 88.6% year-over-year. And, finally, Abarth posted an all-time record in 2018, with sales up 36.5% to nearly 23,500 vehicles.

Lancia/Chrysler posted sales of 48,800 vehicles for the year (0.3% share) and nearly 4,400 vehicles in December (0.4% share, +0.1 percentage points). Sales of the Lancia Ypsilon were up 38.65% in December and in Italy (the only market where the brand is sold), it was the best-selling B segment model.

For Maserati, European sales totaled 8,123 vehicles for the year and 538 in December.
