Southwest Airlines Co. and Dish Network Corp. announced that they will extend free in-flight, live-TV service through the end of this year for passengers who watch on their own Internet-capable devices.

The service started last July and includes nearly 20 channels and up to 75 on-demand programs. At the time, Southwest announced that it would be free through the end of 2013. In the deal, Dish gets Southwest loyalty-program points to use as rewards for people who sign up for its home-TV service.
