SkyWest Inc. announced traffic results for the month and year to date December 2013. For the month, the company reported an 8.0% increase in revenue passenger miles (RPMs) for December, while available seat miles (ASMs) increased 2.9% compared to December 2012. The company also reported that passenger boardings for December increased 2.7% to 4,912,416 compared to 4,784,336 for the same period last year. Load factor increased to 84.1% compared to 80.1% in December 2012. The combined airlines generated 2.6 billion RPMs for the month, while ASMs increased to 3.1 billion. The company also reported a decrease of 3.4% in departures to 113,110 for December compared to 117,067 for the same period last year.
For the year to date, the company reported passengers carried of 60,581,948 against 58,803,690 for the same period a year ago. Revenue passenger miles were 31,834,735,152 against 30,088,278,246 for the same period a year ago. Available seat miles were 39,207,910,330 against 37,278,554,475 for the same period a year ago. Passenger load factor was 81.2% against 80.7% for the same period a year ago.

SkyWest Leasing finances new aircraft with debt under its capacity purchase agreements, consisting of its E175 aircraft. SkyWest Leasing is also engaged in leasing aircraft and engines to third parties.
