SGS : Acquisition of Silver State Analytical Laboratories, Inc. and Excelchem Laboratories, Inc.

SGS is pleased to announce the acquisition of Silver State Analytical Laboratories, Inc. and its sister company Excelchem Laboratories, Inc. ("SSAL/ELI") in the United States (USA).

Founded in 1997, with facilities in Las Vegas, Reno and Elko, Nevada and Rocklin, California, SSAL/ELI are regionally recognized environmental testing laboratories serving companies and government agencies across the western USA for their water and soil needs. They provide quality analytical and microbiological testing (certified and independent) and support services for clients in the environmental, water, utility, engineering, construction, food processing, chemical, mining, healthcare, resort and hospitality industries. The company employs 45 highly skilled staff and generated approximately USD 5.5M of revenue for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2022.

Frankie Ng, CEO of SGS said: "This acquisition expands SGS's environmental testing capabilities in the western USA and complements the services of SGS Forensic Laboratories, based in the California Bay area, as well as in Nevada. It will also come under our Sustainability Solutions framework supporting our mid-term ambition to reach 50% of group revenue by 2023."

This acquisition is part of the SGS Group global strategy for the Industries & Environment sector, which is focused on providing a full range of analytical services with an emphasis on asbestos, metals, hazardous waste, mold, bacteria and particulate analysis in soil, air and water.
